Being connected to the network wirelessly is common thing nowadays. That's why all three current generation console have a wifi feature, although only Nintendo Wii and Sony PS3 have the feature built in. Microsof Xbox 360 owners need to buy it seperately.
I dont understand as to why Nintendo want to releare a network adapter in the first place. But Nintendo actually will release it on September 18 in Japan. The card will be priced at ¥5800 or roughly equal to USD $53.
The card has two modes: Router and Bridge. As router, the card can communicate with any number of Wifi enabled devices including other gaming consoles and PCs. The range and wifi network have yet to be announced. Bridge acts as a technological interpreter between a user's existing wifi router and Nintendo system. North America availability has yet to be announced.
