Square Enix's Pull Out

Today (Friday morning in Japan exactly), Square Enix made an announcement in response to yesterday's Tecmo in talk with Koei news. Square Enix decided to pull out from Tecmo buy out bid. This is expected i guess after Tecmo refuse Square Enix offering and have a talk with Koei instead for a possible merger.
No offense Tecmo, but I think Square Enix is WAY better as a company than Koei, but I could be wrong, as always.

Nokia N85

Actually, Nokia introduced two new N series, the N85 and N79. But I only mention the N85 this time. The phone is full of features as expected from a high end market it's targeted. It is a 4 band GSM and 3 band 3.6 mbps HSDPA. The screen use OLED 16M colors, 240x320 pixels, 2.6" with accelerometer built in. It also has touch sensitive naviwheel just like N81. It can support up to 8GB microSD with 74 MB of internal memory and 128MB of RAM. Bluetooth and wifi with UPNP technology are there too. The N85 is a Symbian phone with OS 9.3 S60 feature pack 2. It has a 5MP auto focus camera with Carl Zeiss optics to complement it. But it only has LED flash, not Xenon. It capable of recording a 30 fps VGA video. A- GPS, tv out, FM stereo radio with RDS, FM transmitter and 3.5 mm audio output jack complete the dual slide design handset. Expected to be in store shelves this October.

DS Redesign's on The Way?

It looks like that Nintendo is not going to sit down after Sony announced a little hardware change for its portable PSP. It is still a speculation though, but the internet community is treated to a news that said a redesign Nintendo DS could be debuting in April or May next year. It will be incorporating touch functionality on both screens with a widescreen aspect ratios. If it's true, the redesign DS will present a new control that would seem worthy of an entire new stock of titles and let's see how the existing titles are going to be able to take advantage of the addition of another touch screen.

Koei And Tecmo in Talk

Just recently, I read on the internet that my favourite publisher Square Enix submitted a proposal to buy out Tecmo. The company was seeking to buy the shares for ¥920 per share in a tender offer which may be worth at least ¥11 billion. The proposed price is about 30% premium to Tecmo's closing price of ¥706 before the offer news.
Apparently, Tecmo rejects the offer. According to Japan Business News site Nikkei Net, Koei Co. and Tecmo Co. have begun merger talks with the goal of integrating their operations. Does it mean that we will see Ryu Hayabusa in Dynasty Warriors game in the future? Only time will tell.

Nokia N96 And Samsung I8510 Now Available

After all this time, Nokia finally decide to throw N96 on the market. I think it has something to do with Samsung being released the I8510 INNOV8 earlier this month. The two has almost identical feature with the notable different is the capability of the camera. Samsung's equipped with a 8 megapixels camera, while Nokia's only has 5 Megapixels. The other notable feature is the DVB-H that the N96 has which I8510 lacks. All in all, I believe that the two will find success as they have their own fans. As for me, I like I8510 better. But I can't afford it.

Resistance 2 Set For November Release

Resistance: Fall of Man is one of the best selling Playstation 3 game. So it's only logical that a sequel is in the works. Now, almost 2 years after the game released, Imsoniac announced that Resistance 2 will see the light of day on November 4 this year in North America. The game is rated M for Mature.
The standard version of the game will be priced at $59.99. In addition, a Collector's Edition will be available for $79.99. It will include a hard cover art book, special cover art, an in-game weapon skin, action figure of the game's alien human hybrid race the Chimera. A bonus DVD will also included with behind the scene featturette, a video detailing the game's alternate historical timeline, digital copy of issue #0 of the Resistance comic book from DC Comics subsidiary Wildstorm. Well, that's a lot of stuff for an additional $20. But you decide if it's worth it or not.

Another X360 Price Cut

This can be a good news or bad news to you. If you don't have Microsoft's latest gaming console yet, it's good news. But if you bought an Xbox 360 recently, especially the 20GB one, you'd feel cheated by this latest announcement.
Starting from September 5, you can buy an Xbox 360 cheaper. This price cut brings a 120GB Elite Xbox 360 to $399, the 60GB model and the Core model are priced at $299 and $199 respectively.
So, a price cut is always good right? Um, no their not, because the now discontinued 20GB Xbox 360 was priced at the same $299 and it hasn't been a month since Microsoft introduced the 60GB model for $349. Now you all that bought the 20GB model recently would feel cheated, wouldn't you? I would if I were you.

New Zune Models

For a DAP (Digital Audio Player), iPod is the undefeatable winner, at least until now. It seems that any attempt to make Apple's iPod lose its market share significantly is fail miserably. But that doesn't make Microsoft gives up. Although we can't say that Zune is a success product, it looks like Microsoft is not going to give up yet. Instead, uncle Bill's company is going to launch a new variant of Zune. Microsoft will be offering a 120GB and a 8GB Zune models for $249.95 and $149.95. Expect this new model to be in store shelves near you soon.

Out of Topic

As the title suggest, this one is a little off topic. I'm not going to talk about games, nor technology, nor movies, nor mobiles. Let me talk about me. It's a blog after all.
I introduced myself in my very first post in this blog. And to tell the truth, this is my very first attempt creating a blog. I do all this from my Nokia 6270 cellphone. I don't have a computer and I'm too lazy to go to internet cafe. I just use what is available to me. I'm not rich, therefore, there will be times where I don't update this blog for awhile because I don't have the money to make my cellphone go online.
Now you all understand the situation here. Since the looks of the web I see from my cellphone is different from a regular computer, layout of this blog is not a priority to me. But if anyone want to help me improve this blog, be my guest. I'm open to suggestion, comments, or anything. In fact, I'm encourage you all to do so.
I'm just a newbie with a limited access and tools. So anything would be appreciated. :-)

Embrace The All New Chrome

What is it you ask? Chrome is a new browser that Google has publicly released in an effort to compete with the giant software company Microsoft's Internet Explorer and Mozilla's Firefox.
Currently, Chrome is available for Windows users in more than 100 nations. A version for Linux and Apple's Mac OS X are in the work.
The open source browser was built using Apple WebKit, Mozilla Firefox, and other open source technologies and Google will open up Chrome so the community has the ability to tinker with it.

According to Anandtech.com, the new browser from Google, Chrome is small, quick, efficient. You can read about it here. Anybody tried it out yet?
